Business Watch
What is Business Watch?
Business Watch is an empowered alliance of local business owners committed to safeguarding one another and their properties. Developed as an adaptation of the renowned Neighbourhood Watch program, the program thrives on transparency and unity, urging everyone to keep a vigilant eye out for suspicious activity. In a Business Watch, the objective is that incidents are reported, not only to police, but also among fellow business owners. In our Watch, reporting isn’t just a duty—it’s a shared commitment. With every member alert and united, safety isn’t just a goal, it’s our reality.
But that’s not all. We also arm business owners with the knowledge and tools they need to keep their businesses safe from crime through crime prevention resources, education and training.
Safe City Mississauga’s Business Watch program was crafted by a diverse planning committee, comprising representatives from City Council, Peel Regional Police, International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners, and various local business associations including the Mississauga Board of Trade, Malton BIA, Streetsville BIA, and Port Credit BIA. Monthly meetings were convened to strategize and plan for the effective delivery of this vital program.
Business Watch is the culmination of expertise and dedication. It’s time to join forces and make our business communities safer, stronger, and unstoppable.
